I'm not a huge fan of broccoli, but wow- cover it in garlic and onions and I can't stop eating it! Seriously, it's that good!
1 1/2 lb broccoli (just eyeball, it's nothing exact)
1 can (14 1/2oz) chicken broth
1/2 cup chopped onions
3 tsp minced garlic
1 Tbsp butter (use the real stuff, it's worth it)
1/4 tsp black pepper
shredded romano or parmesan cheese to top
~In large saucepan, bring broccoli and broth to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 5-8 minutes until broccoli is a crisp/tender
~In small skillet, saute' onion and garlic in butter. Add pepper. Set aside.
~Drain broccoli and place in serving bowl. Add garlic/onion mixture over the top. Sprinkle with cheese.
