sunrise smoothie

Now if I can only make this without my kids knowing I'm adding sorbet, because I can't really leave it out, right?!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped ripe strawberries (5 large strawberries)

  • 1 cup chopped seeded watermelon

  • 1 cup chopped fresh peach

  • 1 cup raspberry sorbet

  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice

Directions

Place the strawberries, watermelon, peach, sorbet, and orange juice in a blender and puree until smooth and creamy. Add more orange juice if you'd like it a little less thick. Serve immediately in tall glasses with straws.

Don't let the simplicity fool you... this is so good, and so refreshing on a hot summer day!

Blend...

prepared lemonade (not the powdered stuff!)

sugar to sweeten

.

Idea:  Freeze in dixie cups w/ popsicle sticks for a homemade popsicle!

.

pineapple crush

Blend & Enjoy!

1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
1/2 frozen very ripe medium banana

orange julius

This is probably my favorite smoothie-type drink of all time.  I drank one almost every morning when pregnant with Kylie (in lieu of coffee), and now will add vanilla Carnation powder to make a healthy shake.  But best of all is my kids LOVE orange julius'!

In blender, combine & blend...

Ice (halfway full or so)

1/2 can concentrated orange juice

1 cup milk

1 cup water

1/2 cup sugar

1 tsp vanilla

Spiked Egg Nog

With 3 different alcohols, how bad can it be?

1 quart egg nog (just buy it, don't make your own)

1/2 cup rum

1/2 cup light creme de cocoa

1/2 cup grand marnier

~Mix all and refrigerate for a few hours to blend flavors.  Top with nutmeg.
